
On November 19, the city of Foshan in Guangdong Province announced 12 new policies for the property market, effective immediately.

According to a circular jointly issued the same day by the Foshan Housing and Urban-Rural Development Bureau and seven other departments, the city will further promote the stable and healthy development of its real-estate sector.
根据佛山市住房和城乡建设局与其他七个部门于同日联合发布的通知,该市将进一步推动房地产市场的稳定健康发展。
Among the measures, Foshan will expand support for home purchases using housing provident fund loans. Buyers of locally allocated subsidized housing will be eligible to apply for provident fund loans, with a minimum down-payment ratio of 15%. Foreign nationals who meet the requirements for provident fund loans will also be allowed to apply when purchasing homes in Foshan.
其中,佛山将扩大对使用住房公积金贷款购房的支持。购买当地分配的保障性住房的购房者将有资格申请公积金贷款,最低首付比例为15%。符合公积金贷款要求的外国公民在佛山购房时也将被允许申请公积金贷款。
The city will further facilitate home purchases by overseas individuals: those working or studying in China may buy commercial housing in Foshan with only a written commitment stating that the property is for personal use and self-occupation.

In addition, employees who contribute to housing provident funds in other regions may apply to convert their outstanding commercial mortgage loans into provident fund loans. Workers purchasing a second home will also be eligible to apply for such “commercial-to-provident” loan conversions.
