一、生平
1. Life Story

他出身普通家庭，童年家境困顿。父亲负债入狱，12岁的狄更斯被迫去工厂做工，受尽磨难，这段经历深刻影响他之后的写作。
He was born into an ordinary family and experienced severe financial hardship during his childhood. When his father was imprisoned for debt, a 12-year-old Dickens was forced to work in a factory. The hardships he endured during this time profoundly influenced his later writings.

他先后做过书记员、记者，之后走上文学创作道路。
He worked as a clerk and a journalist before embarking on a career in literature.

他关注底层百姓的苦难，同情穷人、孤儿，批判社会不公。晚年还到处朗读自己的作品，深受大众喜爱，58岁病逝。
He paid close attention to the suffering of the loweres, sympathized with the poor and orphans, and criticized social injustice. In his later years, he traveled extensively to give public readings of his works, which made him deeply beloved by the public. He passed away at the age of 58.
