While the structure underwent a meticulous restoration by architectural master Gil Schafer, intervening decor choices had caused the house to lose its focus. To uncover its dormant charm, the design strategy prioritized "distillation" and "simplification." By preserving historic details while removing unappealing brown-stained floors and jarring wall colors, the home was steered back toward a sense of tranquility.

To introduce a softer tactile quality, the walls and moldings underwent a complete visual overhaul. A palette of deep cream was deployed across the main level. Marmorino plaster finishes on the walls create subtle textures and shadows, while high-gloss lacquer on the moldings reflects light beautifully, effectively giving the interior a luminous "facelift."
