2015年，我在上海奥赛画廊举办《静·观——张国龙2015》展览时，经策展人张平杰先生介绍，认识了余丹。她知性、热情，对艺术有着真切而持久的兴趣。此后在各类艺术活动与展览现场，总能见到她的身影，长久深耕上海文化生态，从观展、参与到主动传播，如同穿梭于艺术现场的“小蜜蜂”，为日常文化流动注入鲜活力量。
In 2015, while holding the exhibition"Quiet · View—Zhang Guolong 2015"at Shanghai Author Gallery, I was introduced to Yu Dan by curator Zhang Pingjie. Warm, sincere and passionate, she holds a long-standing devotion to art. In the years that followed, I frequently crossed paths with her at exhibitions and cultural events. Deeply rooted in Shanghai’s cultural ecosystem, she evolved from an audience and participant to an active art promoter. Like a diligent "little bee" traversing the art scene, she brings fresh vitality to day-to-day cultural operations.

余丹本科主修财税，长期从事数据分析相关行业工作。2019年，她通过院校专业审核，入读中央美术学院实验艺术学院“装置艺术与材料语言”高级研修班，跨专业开启系统艺术深造。初时我也曾考量跨专业学习的适配度，但她发自内心的热忱、细腻的感知与全情投入，让她顺利踏入专业艺术实践之路。
Yu Dan earned her bachelor's degree in Public Finance and Taxation and spent years working in data analysis. In 2019, after passing formal admissions assessment, she joined the Advanced Research Program in Installation Art and Material Language at the School of Experimental Art, Central Academy of Fine Arts (CAFA). This marked the start of her cross-disciplinary systematic artistic training. Initially, I wondered whether she could overcome the hurdles of such a drastic career shift. Still, her authentic passion, delicate perception, and wholehearted dedication allowed her to step firmly into professional art practice.

余丹成长于知青家庭，早年扎根东北，后依托知青子女返城政策定居上海。南北地域、生活境遇的巨大反差，让她养成向内观照、自省自愈的思维方式，也塑造了她看待世界独有的视角，成为她创作的精神根基。
Yu Dan was raised in an educated youth family. She spent her early life in Northeast China, then settled permanently in Shanghai under the policy for educated youth’s children to resettle in urban areas. The sharp contrast between northern and southern ways of life, coupled with drastic changes in her living circumstances, nurtured her introspective, self-healing temperament. These life experiences shaped her distinctive perspective and laid the spiritual bedrock for her artistic creation.

艺术成为她连接自我与世界的全新通路。她不再只是艺术的旁观者，而是借材料、装置与观念，书写独属于自身的生命体验。在央美实验艺术深造期间，她持续钻研艺术语言，不断打磨个人表达，建立起清晰完整的创作态度。
Art became a new bridge connecting her inner spirit to the external world. She transcended the role of a mere spectator, employing materials, installation, and conceptual language to convey her personal life experiences. While pursuing experimental art studies at CAFA, she continuously expanded her artistic vocabulary, refined her individual expression, and developed a cohesive, mature creative stance.

在北京锦都艺术中心《温度——实验艺术延展第二回》展中，她的装置作品《明心见性》广受关注。作品以石榴为核心载体，借果实成熟、开裂、去籽留壳的自然过程，传递“放空杂念、回归本心”的东方精神内核。她以石榴籽的错落结构构建意象格局，将个人生命感悟与精神思考转化为可被感知的视觉语言。
At Temperature — The Second Extension of Experimental Art, hosted at Beijing Jindu Art Center, her installation 'Seeing One's Original Nature' garnered wide acclaim. Centered around the pomegranate as its core medium, the work draws upon the natural life cycle of the fruit: ripening, splitting open, seed shedding, and the remaining empty husk. It conveys an Eastern philosophical tenet: release worldly distractions and return to one's authentic innate nature. By arranging layered pomegranate forms to construct structural imagery, Yu Dan transforms her personal life reflections and spiritual meditations into tangible visual language.

多年持续的艺术实验，让余丹完成了从艺术爱好者到独立创作者的蜕变。在不断实践中，她的创作语言持续迭代、愈发丰盈。她的经历也印证：艺术并非职业艺术家独有的领地，每一个普通人都能借由创作完成自我认知、与世界对话，安放精神力量。余丹最可贵之处，便是用自身经历证明：任何一个艺术观者，都有机会成长为真诚的表达者。

Years of persistent artistic experimentation have transformed Yu Dan from an art enthusiast into an independent creator. Long-term consistent practice has enriched and refined her artistic language. Her artistic journey also proves that art is not a domain reserved exclusively for professional artists. Any ordinary person can turn to artistic creation to deepen self-awareness, converse with the world, and anchor their inner spiritual strength. Yu Dan’s most valuable merit lies in this living testimony: anyone who immerses themselves in art can evolve into a sincere creator with a genuine voice.
