On 17 July, we celebrate the International Criminal Justice Day, commemorating the adoption of the Rome Statute on 17 July 1998. This year holds special significance as it marks the 25th anniversary of the adoption of this pivotal treaty, which established the International Criminal Court (ICC).

The Rome Statute aims to protect humanity from the gravest crimes, including genocide, crimes against humanity, war crimes, and the crime of aggression. It unites individuals and nations in their shared commitment to justice, victims' rights, and the prevention of crimes that threaten global peace, security, and human rights.
