Dr. Makadzange, Clinical Assistant Professor of Infectious Diseases at StanDoM, saw that fewer than 4% of global clinical trials occur in Africa and decided to change that. Through the Africa Clinical Research Network (ACRN), launched in 2024, she's building infrastructure that centers African patients in medical research.
