纽约客每篇A Reporter at Large，我基本都会看。
这期看完的的感受就是两个字 wag the dog。
美国前国防部长盖茨2014的回忆录《Duty》里有一段经典的评价，“I think he has been wrong on nearly every major foreign policy and national security issue over the past four decades.”
我一直记忆犹深，这篇文章再次应验了这句话。

“Blinken and Sullivan told me that they, too, felt remorse.
