What I find most compelling about Vincenzo De Cotiis’ Venetian home is the way time itself becomes part of the material palette. Rather than restoring the palazzo into something perfect, he allows its patina, faded surfaces and historical layers to remain visible, then introduces highly sculptural contemporary pieces in bronze, fibreglass, stone and glass. His approach is always about working with what already exists rather than erasing it—looking simultaneously to the past and the future.
