According to Guangzhou Baiyun Airport Customs, officers conducting inspections on an inbound flight noticed anomalies in the X-ray images of a passenger who had chosen the “Nothing to Declare” channel.
Customs authorities remind travelers that, under Chinese regulations, carrying large amounts of cash across the border is subject to restrictions. Any inbound passenger carrying more than 20,000 yuan in renminbi or foreign currency equivalent to over US$5,000 in cash must make a truthful declaration and proceed through the “Goods to Declare” channel.
