2026 brings good news for overseas Chinese returning to China: many
ports across the country have launched exclusive convenience measures
for overseas Chinese returning to visit relatives, including special
express channels, simplified application materials and dedicated
consultation windows. However, many overseas Chinese are still stuck
at customs because they are not clear about the applicable conditions
and necessary materials.

convenience measures are officially launched and cover multiple key
ports, focusing on solving the pain points of long queues and
complicated procedures for overseas Chinese returning to visit
relatives:

Although
materials are simplified, the core materials must be complete and
standardized, especially the kinship certificate needs official
translation and certification:

foreign passport (within the validity period).
有效外国护照（在有效期内）。
Valid
Chinese visa/residence permit (Q2/S2 visa is preferred for family
visit purposes).

Kinship
certificate (e.g., birth certificate, marriage certificate), which
must be notarized and translated into Chinese with official
certification.

Steps
实操步骤
1.After
arriving at the port, go to the "Overseas Chinese Exclusive
Channel" (marked with obvious signs) and queue up in an orderly
manner.
1.抵达口岸后，前往“外籍华人专属通道”（有明显标识），有序排队。
2.Fill
in the electronic entry card in advance (1-2 hours before arrival)
through the official mini-program, save the QR code.
2.抵达前1-2小时，通过官方小程序提前填写电子入境卡，保存二维码。
3.Submit
the prepared core materials to the border inspection staff, and
complete fingerprint retention (14-70 years old, eligible for
exemption can skip).
3.向边检人员提交准备好的核心材料，完成指纹留存（14-70周岁，符合免留指纹条件可跳过）。
4.After
the information is verified, enter the self-service channel, place
the passport on the card reader, complete face and fingerprint
recognition, and pass through.
4.信息核验通过后，进入自助通道，将护照放置在读卡区，完成人脸、指纹识别，即可通关。

Uncertified
Kinship Certificate: Go to the nearby official translation agency
for urgent translation and certification (it can be completed within
1 working day).
亲属关系证明未认证：前往口岸附近官方翻译机构，办理加急翻译认证（1个工作日内可完成）。
Visa
Expiration/Damage: Go to the port visa window to apply for a
temporary entry permit, or go through the visa renewal procedures in
accordance with regulations.
签证过期/损毁：前往口岸签证窗口，申请临时入境许可，或按规定办理签证换发手续。
Failure
to Fill in Entry Card: Fill in the electronic entry card on the spot
through the official mini-program, which takes about 5 minutes.
未填写入境卡：现场通过官方小程序填写电子入境卡，约5分钟即可完成。
