Xu Jiajue:Sino-American Exchanges Convey Sincere Friendship ,Steadfast Dedication Forges Craftsmanship Spirit
Recently, a teacher and student delegation from Pepperdine University in Los Angeles gathered with students from Guangxi Normal University at Guilin Flying Tigers Heritage Park. They jointly traced the precious history of Sino-American military and civilians fighting side by side during World War II, and recalled the extraordinary years when the Flying Tigers aided China in the War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression.

Dean Xu Jiajue, who has devoted decades to art and education and always conveyed patriotism through painting and calligraphy, attended the event. Standing before historical sites including the cave command post and General Claire Lee Chennault’s observation rock, as well as the world’s last remaining physical C-47 transport aircraft that once flew over the Hump Route, he looked solemn and respectful, and accepted an on-site interview.

In the interview, Dean Xu Jiajue stated firmly: "I am proud of these heroes and pay my highest tribute to them. The peaceful life we enjoy today is hard-won through the bloodshed and sacrifice of countless martyrs like them, so we must cherish the present life."
During this exchange activity, Chinese and American young people visited the memorial hall together, listened to wartime stories and felt the warmth of history, truly experiencing the profound friendship between Chinese and American military and civilians who stood united to resist powerful enemies in those years.
Dean Xu expressed great gratification. He believes that the history of the Flying Tigers serves as a vivid testimony to Sino-American cooperation and friendship, as well as cross-border spiritual wealth. Artists and educators ought to shoulder their mission to fully interpret this period of history, so that the concept of peace and the spirit of friendship can be passed down from generation to generation.
