一、使用；利用(use)

①take (full) advantage of (充分)利用=make good use of

New learners take full advantage of daily fragmented time to memorise English vocabulary.新学习者充分利用日常碎片化时间背诵英语单词。

②utilise相当于use，但是比use更加正式。utilise是英式拼写，美式写法为utilize。其名词形式 the utilisation of=the use of。

We should wisely utilise every opportunity for self-improvement.

我们应当明智利用每一次自我提升的机会。

This spacious hall is mainly utilised for academic lectures and seminars.

这个大厅主要被用于举办学术讲座和研讨会。

③employ表示使用某种方式/手段。常用搭配：employ a method/technique。

The paper analyses the creative teaching techniques employed in middle schools.

该论文分析了中小学课堂中运用的创新性教学技巧。

④deploy常用来表示使用某种科技，the deployment of也可以替代the use of。

Artificial intelligence technology can be deployed to simplify complex manual work.

二、利用某事牟利

①capitalise on表示利用某事来获得好处或牟利，目的性很强。capitalise来源于capital(资本)，即“将...变成资本”。capitalise的美式拼写为capitalize，规律同utilise-utilize。考试作文中，美式或英式拼写都可以，只要全文保持一致即可。

Villagers capitalise on local natural scenery to develop rural tourism and increase income.

村民们依托当地自然风光发展乡村旅游，增收致富。

②cash in on表示乘机利用某事来赚钱。这个短语有时会带有贬义。

Many brands have cashed in on the trend of healthy lifestyles to launch new products.

众多品牌借助健康生活的潮流推出新品、赚取利润。

三、利用信息/资源

①exploit表示充分有效地利用。比如利用资源、利用机会：exploit natural resources 利用自然资源 | exploit every opportunity利用一切机会

Young people should exploit various platforms to showcase their comprehensive abilities.

年轻人应当利用各类平台，展现自身的综合能力。

exploit也可以表示利用某种不正当的方式牟利。如：Some businessmen exploit policy loopholes to gain illegal profits.部分商人钻政策漏洞谋取非法利益。

②draw on表示利用某种经验/知识/信息：draw on personal experience 利用个人经验

This research draws on abundant real cases and professional theoretical knowledge.这项研究依托大量真实案例和专业理论知识展开。

③tap (into)同样表示利用、发掘已有的资源、知识、能力等。可以重点记一些搭配：

To achieve long-term development, enterprises need to tap into the potential of young staff.

为实现长效发展，企业需要发掘青年员工的潜力。

Many small enterprises face difficulties when tapping into overseas consumer markets.
